For most visitors and islanders Es Vedra, the Magic Rock ,is the most spectacular viewpoint of the island. Rising sharrply up 400m above the sea the rock island appears in a way supernatural like a relict of ancient times when nature was not tamed by human civilisation . Iis "little brother" Es Vedranell appears like a fosil, a stone-like dragon or sea snake guarding the Magic Rock and its hidden treasures. This dreramlike image of a powerful , overwhelming nature and its forces makes us feel small and humid in regard of the forces of nature. The atmosphere is filled with "Magic". The powers of the rocks seem to be related to the cosmos as if both islands are a phantasylike scenery originating from another planet in the endless spheres of the universe. And so it is not astonishing at all that for many admirers of this view Es Vedra has the meaning of a "power-location, a 'Kraftort' - a good place for meditation - as if you are allowed to leave the earth for some moments to see it in a sort of time machine view as it was many thousands of years ago. No wonder that there are many myths about the relation of the Magic Rock to the ancient kingdom of Atlantis; from which Es Vedra is seen to have been a part. Some even had phantasies of Es Vedra as an ancient ufo-landingplace. If you ever go there to see the Rock from the side of Cap Blanc, dont miss to find the magic landart spiral , which is connecting the powers of the Magic Rock with the Ibiza. And if you find it, why not stand in its center for a moment of quietud closing the eyes...and you will be surprised about your inner picture, phantasies coming up to the surface of your mind..
